The Reality of Hayu is: There’s More to Watch than You’d Expect.

Drew Frimston,

Hayu has established itself as the place for all things Housewives – Beverly Hills, New Jersey, New York, Orange County, Miami, Salt Lake City and many more. If there is a show about a group of drama-filled housewives, you better believe you can watch it on Hayu.

But if the lure of the extended Housewives franchise was what got you in the door of Hayu, we have some good news about just how broad the deeper offering is.

This is a haven for reality junkies to be sure, but there is so much more on offer.

From a killer range of titles for the true crime fanatics, to tasty treats for the home chefs. Here’s our recommendations of other great Hayu shows you need to check out.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Any reality junkie worth their salt knows of the Kardashian family. The Kardashian-Jenner clan are daughters Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kylie and Kendall lead by the often terrifying matriarch, Kris.

Not only does Hayu stream the essential Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but there is also a bucketload of Kardashian content outside of this. Titles include Kim Kardashian-West: The Justice Project, Revenge Body with Khloé Kardashian, Life of Kylie, Kourtney & Kim Take New York/Miami/The Hamptons and more.

Hayu is your one-stop Kardashian shop.

Below Deck

Have you ever wanted to just pack up and sail around the world? Haven’t we all! Below Deck may be the next best thing. It’s a reality series that allows you to feel like you are traversing the globe as you watch the employees on luxury yachts work to meet the demands of their high-maintenance clients.

Having a beautiful ocean landscape behind them does make their job a lot easier, but these ‘yachties’ also live by the “work hard, party harder” mantra.

Below Deck has developed itself into an ever growing franchise with a global audience. If you finish the 9 seasons currently on Hayu, then don’t stress, you can check out the spin-offs Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Mediterranean and even something for us Aussies with the newest addition, Below Deck Down Under.

The Million Dollar Listings franchise also heads to other cities, with versions catering to Miami, San Francisco and New York city.

Paris in Love

Reality Junkie or not, there are very few people who don’t know the name Paris Hilton. Say what you will about Paris, there is no arguing her global status as a fashion icon and talented entrepreneur.

In Paris in Love, we join her on her journey to become a smitten bride.

Accompany Paris as she shops for a wedding dress, finds a location for her dream destination wedding, and party hard at her Bachelorette party. That’s hot.

Top Chef

Hayu has an answer for every reality itch, including some great shows for those home chefs or people that just appreciate great cooking.

Top Chef follows a group of culinary enthusiasts as they compete through a series of challenges judged by professionals in the industry. All to decide who, as the title says, will be the top chef of the season.

If the 19 seasons of Top Chef isn’t enough to satisfy your appetite, in true Hayu fashion they offer an additional buffet of franchise spin-offs like Top Chef Masters, Top Chef: Amateurs, Top Chef Junior and more!

Snapped

It may surprise you that Hayu has a deep and impressive catalogue of true crime shows including 22 seasons of one of the most addictive of all, Snapped. This hit show follows high-profile, unique or bizarre cases of some of the most notorious murders that involve women as a suspect.

Dive deep into cases involving revenge against cheating husbands, chasing large insurance payoffs and more. It’s true what they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

911 Crisis Centre

This pulse-pounding documentary series gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the real lives of first responders at an Ohio emergency dispatch centre. An up-close and personal look at a dedicated team of 911 dispatchers as they take on a never-ending stream of panic-stricken callers in need of emergency assistance.

From dealing with an unusually eventful full moon night to supporting a pregnant dispatcher on a particularly distressing call, the personal drama surrounding this taxing job is at the fore of this gripping series.
